Lamp from upcycled bedlinen

FÓLK Reykjavik introduced this upcycled lamp with a great story behind it at last Maison & Objet Paris.

It is made from upcycled textiles - previous bedlinen, towels or cutoffs from textile production. Instead of ending up in a landfill or being burnt these textiles get a new life in beautifully designed pieces like the Upcycled lamp designed by Theodora Alfredsdottir for FÓLK Reykjavik.

Upcycled textile comes from used or leftover cotton from the production of Danish textile company Kvadrat. Upcycled textile boards which are made by Really CPH is an attempt to reduce the amounts of textiles that end up in landfills each year or are burned and increase the circularity of materials.
